Eat and Drink in Paradise

The U.S. Virgin Islands have their own unique brand of culinary cuisine and exotic cocktails.  Local foods of the Virgin Islands are filled with fresh fruit and Caribbean spices. The fruits include mango, coconuts, soursop, and passion fruit. Rice is also a staple on the islands as well as fresh vegetables. Take a look at our guide to eating and drinking your way around the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as our list of local favorites.

Our Favorite Restaurants:

Room with a View

Room with a View has some of the best views of sunset on the island and the Lobster Thermidor is excellent. Be sure to stop by during happy hour weekdays 5-7pm for $5 appetizers and select domestic beers and house wines! If you end up going during happy hour, Bartender Jamie makes the best mojitos on the island, so those are a must for any lover of fabulous cocktails!

Epernay is a rather small restaurant in Frenchtown, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for with its delicious food options. When stopping by, you’ll definitely want to check out the wine list!

Banana Tree Grille

At the Banana Tree Grille, the Key Lime martini is beyond belief and the Gorgonzola bread is a must-have for an easy appetizer before the main course, which will surely be delicious. Rather pricey, but definitely worth it for date night, a group gathering, or solo dinner — you just can’t beat the view and ambience!

Grand Cru

A delightfully elegant bar and restaurant in Yacht Haven Grande that gives you an art deco kind of feel. The owner’s intent for the restaurant was for it to have the look and feel of a restaurant on a yacht, and they really accomplished that goal! The mixologists are experts at their craft and we highly recommend the Reese’s Martini, chocolatey and delicious!

Fresh Bistro

A small restaurant in Yacht Haven Grande that will surprise you with its affordability and delightfully handcrafted cuisines. Also take a gander at the wine list while downing your meal, you’ll definitely want to save some room for a slice of what’s on the fresh made dessert menu.
